A Second Chance at Life
Should Not Be a Life Sentence of Debt.
Foundation of Kidney Transplant Global Initiative
The surgery saves the kidney. The medication saves the life. Without lifelong access to expensive immunosuppressant medication, the body attacks the new organ. We are here to stop that.

The Nigerian Post-Transplant Reality
A transplant is not the end of treatment. It is the beginning of lifelong survival.
Imagine the profound joy of a successful kidney transplant—the relief of saying goodbye to grueling dialysis. Now, imagine the sheer terror of realizing you cannot afford the daily medication required to keep that new kidney alive.
In Nigeria, the average monthly cost of immunosuppressants exceeds ₦150,000 to ₦300,000. Without robust health insurance coverage, families are forced to sell assets, children drop out of school, and eventually, financial fatigue sets in.
The tragic result? Highly preventable graft loss and death simply because a patient ran out of money for pills.
The Surgery Saves the Kidney.
The Medication Saves the Life.
Our Intercept: The ARDS Initiative
FOKGI’s Anti-Rejection Drug Scheme (ARDS) provides structured financial assistance to indigent patients, ensuring they never have to choose between feeding their families and keeping their transplanted organ functioning.
